In the summer of 2010, I moved to Pittsburgh with a
520 credit score and a negative net worth of -$1,200. I owed my uncle money, had no real plan, and was just trying to figure life out. If you would have told me back then that I’d one day build a multi-million dollar roofing company, exit the business on my own terms, and have the opportunity to help other entrepreneurs
design lives they love, I wouldn’t have believed you.
But here I am.
This journey has been anything but easy. There were
sleepless nights, tough conversations, anxiety, and even hospital visits. I made mistakes. I learned hard lessons. I had people I trusted turn their backs on me. I had moments where I wasn’t sure if I could keep going.
But every time I hit a wall,
God was working on something bigger.
In
November 2024, I was sitting at Thanksgiving dinner with Brittany. We were talking about life, business, and what the next chapter might look like. I had spent nearly a decade pouring my heart into
Big Fish Roofing, and I was at a crossroads.
That summer,
Travis Greenawalt reached out to me on Facebook. At the time, I didn’t think much of it—people message me all the time about business. But when he came back to me later in the year, this time ready to make a real offer, I knew he was serious.
Travis is a
true operator—someone who has spent the last 20 years mastering the roofing industry. His business model is
highly profitable, scalable, and built for the long game. He saw the potential in what we built at Big Fish and wanted to take it to the next level in Western Pennsylvania.
That’s when it clicked.
I
wasn’t burnt out—I was just ready for something bigger.
Something different.
This wasn’t about stepping away. It was about stepping
into a new role where I could do what I love:
branding, vision, and helping entrepreneurs make the right moves for their future.
So, on
February 28, 2025, the deal officially closed.
I kept
20% ownership because I believe in where Big Fish is going.
The future is bright.
Let’s be real:
building a business is brutal.
People see the highlight reel—the wins, the recognition, the success. What they don’t see are the nights where you can’t sleep because payroll is due. The anxiety when a big client backs out. The relationships that suffer because you’re too deep in the grind.
In
August 2024, I went through one of the toughest moments of my career. A controversy around my podcast led to a lot of people in the roofing industry turning their backs on me. Some of the same people I thought were friends disappeared overnight.
It hurt.
But in that moment,
God was working. He was closing doors I didn’t need to walk through anymore.
Without that storm, I
wouldn’t have been open to this opportunity. I wouldn’t have been in the right headspace to take Travis’s call. And I wouldn’t have been able to start this
next chapter with total clarity.
In 2012, I was working for my uncle,
listening to
Gary Vee
on social media. That was the first time I started to believe I could do something bigger. In 2015 when I started Big Fish Roofing
People laughed at me for using a cartoon fish as a logo and using Facebook to build a brand, but I saw the long game.
Then in
2020, I read Rocket Fuel
by Gino Wickman, and that changed everything.
I implemented EOS, embraced my role as a visionary, and everything clicked.
That’s when my life truly changed.
For all the ups and downs, I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything. Every win, every loss, every moment of doubt—it all led me here.
I’m
not done.
My mission now is to
help driven entrepreneurs maximize their energy, make a bigger impact, and find inner peace. Whether that means
growing their business, exiting, or simply regaining control of their lives, I want to help them get clear on what really matters.
Because if you’re
trapped in your business, you’re probably trapped in your head.
And the truth is, you’re
one decision away from changing everything. Once I read the book
Shine and started implementing the
10 Disciplines my life became more peaceful.
If my story proves anything, it’s that big things are possible when you step into who you were meant to be.
I’m beyond grateful for every person who has been part of this journey. To my
team, my family, my mentors, my haters, and my supporters—thank you.
And most of all, I want to thank
God—because none of this would have been possible without Him.
The future is bright.
Let’s go.
